What Is Water-based Ink Printing Corrugated Paper?
Water-based inks have been used in corrugated paper printing for a long time abroad, and have a history of more than 20 years in China. Corrugated printing has developed from lead printing (letter printing), offset printing (lithographic printing), offset printing to today's flexographic letterpress water-based ink printing. Flexographic water-based inks have also developed from rosin-maleic acid modified resin series (low-grade) to acrylic resin series (high-grade). The printing plate also transitioned from the rubber version to the resin version. The printing press has gradually developed from a vat single-color or two-color machine to a three-color or four-color ELEXO machine. With the rapid development of printing technology, the use of water-based ink is very important. Before discussing the application skills of water-based ink, we must first understand the characteristics of water-based ink and the relationship and influence of various factors in printing, such as plate factor, paper factor, screen wheel factor, mechanical factor, ink factor, operator factor, etc.
1. Characteristics of water-based inks for corrugated paper printing
Water-based inks can be divided into two categories: ①Rosin-maleic acid modified resin series (low-grade); ②Acrylic resin series (high-grade).
2. Requirements for water-based inks
①After long-term storage, the sediment should be easy to disperse after stirring; ②It has good fluidity and viscosity; ③Good storage stability; ④Drying performance should be fast and appropriate; ⑥ Do not have too much irritating smell.
3. Technical parameters of water-based ink
①Color: similar to the standard version (Note: The test sample and the standard sample will be developed and compared by a manual color wheel); ②Fineness: less than 20um, instrument: 0 - 50um scraper fineness meter; ③Viscosity: 20±5s , Instrument: RIGOSHA4# cup (25 ℃); ④PH value: 8.0 - 9.5 Instrument: portable acidity meter (PHB-2 type);
4. Requirements for the correct use of water-based inks
① Stir well before use to keep the ink composition uniform; (2) After opening and use, immediately seal the ink storage place to prevent dust from falling and scabbing; ③ If the residual ink contains impurities, it should be filtered first, and then used with new ink ;④When storing, please avoid high temperature or scorching sun exposure, and it will not deteriorate for one year under normal conditions;
